Have you ever been in a place where everything felt just right? – You love your job or you think you’ve found the person you want to spend the rest of your life with….and then…BAM – You’re unceremoniously laid off or the person you love says they want out of the relationship and they don’t love you anymore. The world as you know it is turned upside down. Your friends say that everything happens for a reason, and you try to believe it, but while you’re fighting through the pain and sadness, it seems to be a loosing battle.

Through this difficult segment of your journey, there are still fleeting moments of clarity; moments when you have a better understanding of yourself, your strength, and the knowledge that no matter what happens you will survive. These may be few and far between at first, but there’s energy in those moments and following that energy can lead you out of the darkness.

So while fighting through the pain, take time to let go and be open to that energy that can take you to a better place, a place of strength and clarity, and ready again to face life’s new adventures.

Tears of Joy

I recently lost a very dear and close friend, Ron Henderson, who transformed the lives of all who knew him. He touched many souls and left a wake of love that will ripple on for years to come. Time may never erase the sorrow of his loss, but his message of love and hope lives on. In my heart’s adventure I find comfort in the words of one of his favorite songs:

“Hey sometimes I know life can make you feel
Like you don’t know what to do
But once there comes a time when you must settle down
And feel the presence of the one who loves you

Oh yes I’m coming to you gently
And there’s one promise I can make
Besides of every tear that sorrow has left you
Tears of joy will take their place”
- Tuck & Patti

May we embody the best of those we’ve loved, struggling through our loss to find the treasures they have left us – Treasures that bring us tears of joy.
“Come feel the love!” – Ron Henderson (9/25/52 – 2/15/09)
