Explaining Life Coaching
Posted May 20th, 2009 No CommentsI was recently speaking with Liz Dallas, founder of the Coaching Center of Vermont and she noted that so often people need to experience Life Coaching to really understand what it’s about. I’ve certainly found this to be true myself. When I talk to other psychotherapists about life coaching there is often a misconception that coaching is strictly focused on skill development. From my own experience, life coaching is so much more. It is about opening up to one’s own authentic self – and identifying personal strengths that support the development of a personal vision and the realization of that vision. These days, more and more people are recognizing the value of life coaching. There still remains a great need for traditional therapy that helps deal with depression, anxiety, and a host of other mental health issues, but I am grateful for Life Coaching – and the opportunity to support individuals to stretch and reach for what they want in love and in life.
